Coal tar pitch
Coal tar pitch is a derivative of coal tar distillation. It is used as a binder for the production of carbon anodes, carbon graphite material and specialty electro carbon products.
Naphthalene
Industrially naphthalene is derived from coal tar. The largest use of naphthalene is the production of phthalic anhydride, tetralin, decalin and various naphthalene derivatives. It is also used as an insecticide in medicine.
Coal tar
Coal tar is produced by the thermal destruction of metallurgical coal. Coal tar pitch, naphthalene, coal tar oils, benzene, toluene are obtained by coal tar distillation.
Carbon black oil
Carbon black oil consists of anthracene, naphthalene oils and other distilled coal tar fractions. Carbon black oil is used in a compound with petroleum resins to produce carbon black.
Petroleum coke
Petroleum coke is used in the aluminum industry where coke serves as a reducing agent in the aluminum smelting from aluminum ores and as a raw material for the manufacture of electrodes used in steel smelting furnaces.
Carbon black
Carbon black is used as a reinforcing component in the rubber and plastic manufacture. About 70% of all carbon black is used in tires and 20% in the rubber production. The rest is used as a black pigment.
